Join Veterans Services on November 11 as we come together to honor the courageous men and women who have served in our armed forces. This special day is an opportunity for our community to recognize the dedication and sacrifice of our veterans. Let’s celebrate them with gratitude, respect, and community spirit!

Veterans Services will host luncheons at multiple campus locations. Find your nearest location below, and join us to enjoy food, camaraderie, and conversation:

  • Central Campus: Parr Center, Room 2160
  • Harper IV: Room 320
  • Merancas Campus: Veterans Center
  • Cato Campus: Annabelle Building, Multipurpose Room 024
  • Levine Campus: Veterans Center

⏰ Event Time: All luncheons will take place Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Honor and Celebrate Veterans Week, Nov. 7-11

Veterans Day is Friday, November 11. In honor of our military veterans and family members, Central Piedmont’s Military Families and Veterans Services will host Veterans Week Nov. 7-11.

Join us on Monday Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. to start the week’s celebrations. Gather near the Central Campus Quad’s flagpole as we honor our veterans in a flag ceremony that reflects love for our country through commitment of service. Richard Bartell, director of Military Family and Veteran Services, will provide opening remarks.

Veteran Women’s Health Services Workshop on May 11

Join Military Families and Veterans Services Wednesday, May 11, 2022, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Cato Campus, Cato II Auditorium, Room 20 (ground level) at Central Piedmont Community College.

If you are a woman who has served in the military and are not enrolled in VA health care, this program is for you. If you have TRICARE and/or private insurance, you could still be eligible for VA services.

This Women Veterans Health Reengagement Training (heaRT) session will walk you through:

  • women’s health services
  • whole health and mental health services
  • how to determine VA care eligibility and enroll in VA

Military Families and Veterans Week of Events

Veteran's Day Flag CeremonyVeterans Day is Thursday, November 11. In honor of our military veterans and family members, Central Piedmont’s Military Families and Veterans Services will host a Veterans Week. Learn about overcoming inequalities and increasing equity through success stories and personal experiences from retired military officials who are employed in the field of veteran services and education. You will also have an opportunity to add value and success toward your academic journey.

NC STRIVE Conference

If you or a family member are affiliated with the Armed Services you will not want to miss this opportunity to attend the NC STRIVE Conference, April 29, from 10 – 11 a.m.

A variety of topics will be discussed during the virtual conference, including:

• the importance of making whole health a priority
• the ways to reduce stress
• the many resources available to veterans and their loved ones

Central Piedmont’s Military Family and Veterans Services is proud to announce the SALUTE Alumni chapter and invites you to join.
