Open House Volunteers Needed!

The Outreach and Recruitment department invites all CPCC students to participate in the 2017 Open House.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We would like to ask you to join us on Saturday, October 21, 2017, as a volunteer. Please take a few minutes to view the available times and volunteer spots.  Please select the time slot and volunteer opportunity that peeks your interest.  Once your selection is made you will receive an email with additional instructions the week prior to the Open House taking place. Finally, you will receive a final confirmation email 48 hours prior to the event.  

When: Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017

Time: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (sign up times vary)

The program begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m.

2015 Fall Open House a Success!

This year’s 2015 Open House on Oct. 17 was a huge success! Some fast facts about the event: 2015 Fall Open House
·         This was the largest Open House attendance to date!
·         Close to 1,000 people attended the Open House on Saturday, October 17.
·         The event was held in Halton Theater and Worrell Building from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
·         More than 60 academic and student services departments participated in the event.
·         More than 400 of our guests participated in workshop sessions on dual enrollment, how to get started, transfer programs and financial aid.
·         More than 200 of our guests participated in campus tours.

CPCC will be hosting our annual Open House event on Saturday, October 17 from 10AM – 1PM in the Worrell Building (just across the street from the Elizabeth Building). All the college’s academic divisions will be represented and faculty and staff will be on hand to answer your questions. There will be more than 60 tables representing CPCC’s academic programs, student services departments and student groups. In addition, there will be prize giveaways, refreshments and the 100 Main Beef and BBQ Food Truck will be on site serving up their delicious plates and sides.

Come take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the programs you are interested in. Whether it’s Science and Engineering, Health, Early Childhood Education, or Simulation and Game Development, we’ve got you covered. Aspire Bakery and Bistro to Host Open House Feb. 28

CPCC’s Aspire Bakery and Bistro will host a free open house for the public to attend next Thursday on the CPCC Harris Campus. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of delicious appetizers and desserts prepared by the College’s Baking and Pastry Arts (BPA) students.aspire menu

The culinary treats featured at the open house will be produced fresh in CPCC’s kitchens by BPA students and are available for sale to the public each day during the fall and spring terms. The eatery is a self-supported enterprise with all proceeds benefitting student activities, scholarships, extracurricular education and resources. In the past, Aspire’s revenue has helped BPA students take educational culinary trips in the U.S. and abroad.

In addition to producing delectable food, Aspire produces tomorrow’s business leaders. That’s because it’s operated daily by students earning their cooperative education credits for the semester. In addition, second-year CPCC BPA associate degree students are required to serve one week as an Aspire employee and another week as its manager as part of their Capstone class. This leadership experience allows students to gain valuable hands-on knowledge about running a business, which they may want to pursue after graduation.

Aspire is open to the public during CPCC’s fall and spring semesters. It operates Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is welcome to visit any time during these hours to purchase its daily variety of mouthwatering baked goods and desserts, handmade chocolates, soups, garden fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches and aromatic coffees and teas.
