Charlotte is hosting the NBA All-Star Game February 13-17. This is the largest sporting event in the city’s history, with as many as 150,000 visitors anticipated.
The All-Star Game and related events will have a significant impact on Center City, including transit and traffic.

Most deadlines for fall transfer admissions land between January and March. That means that admissions committees around the country are starting to make their decisions about who they’ll be accepting right now. Yet when it comes to building a student population that’s likely to graduate, many of the most promising students are least likely to get into the best schools. The source of these star pupils? Community colleges.
New research from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation makes it clear: community college students who transfer to selective four-year schools perform as well as—or even better than—their peers who come directly from high school.

Often called the King Lear of musicals, Mama Rose’s Turn is a tour de force that climaxes an evening of musical theatre filled with amazing tunes like “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You” and theshow-stoppingg “You Gotta Get a Gimmick.” “Gypsy” promises to be a night of theatre to remember for a lifetime.

Spring Transfer Fair at the Levine Campus
Every February, the Transfer Resource Center welcomes more than 20 colleges and universities to the annual Spring College Transfer Fair at the Levine Campus.
This year’s Fair will take place on Tuesday, February 19 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Levine II Building. Visit our website for more information and a list of updated attendees.
On Friday, Feb. 8, at noon, Student Life will be taking students on a guided tour of the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture. Students are asked to meet at in the Worrell Building on Central Campus. The group will be taking the trolley uptown and walking to the Gantt Center. Students should expect to arrive back to Central Campus by 3 p.m.

Model United Nations (MUN) is a Central Piedmont club that provides students with simulation experiences of United Nations sessions.
The MUN club attends conferences with students from other schools where they represent a country and act like the UN, discussing real-life international events and creating resolutions.
Students will learn about current world events and different cultures, as well as develop problem-solving, negotiation and technical writing skills. Moreover, students have the opportunity to meet people from many different places and backgrounds participating in on-campus events, fundraisings and off-campus conferences.
What do we do?
We are preparing for the Southern Regional Model United Nations (SRMUN) Conference on March 28 – 30, 2019, held in Charlotte, N.C.
