Call for Volunteer Peer Tutors in English and Reading

TRiO-Student Support Services is an academic support program for first-generation and income eligible college students located on Central Campus. We are seeking volunteer peer tutors for English and Reading. We require a commitment of a minimum of 2 hours per week for the remainder of the fall CPCC Studentssemester. Applicants need to have earned a grade of A or B in English 111 and English 112 or 113, or 114. A volunteer application and TRiO-Student Support Services application are required. Financial Literacy Workshops

TRiO-Student Support Services and Corporate and Continuing Education/Financial Services Institute are sponsoring two financial literacy workshops this spring. The two workshops are: 

Paying for College & Cars —  Monday, Feb. 25

Using Credit Cards Wisely — Monday, April 22

Location/Time for Both Events:
CPCC Central Campus, Central High, Room 118
2 – 3:30 p.m.   

The sessions are free and open to CPCC students and employees. The workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Debra Sherrill, Corporate and Continuing Education instructor. All are encouraged to attend.

Money Smart

TRiO-Student Support Services, Fifth Third Bank and Corporate and Continuing Education/Financial Services Institute are sponsoring a series of financial literacy workshops. The Money Smart workshops are held on Thursdays through April 19 (except, no workshop on April 5) in Central High, Room 110, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  The sessions are free to students and employees.  This week’s topic – “Charge it Right – Make Your Credit Card Work for You!”  Bring your lunch, if you wish.  Please visit www.cpcc.edu/triosss/money-smart-workshops for schedule and more information.
