Students Selected for State-Wide Student Leadership Development Program

Cristina Vargas Student Life recognizes Cristina Vargas-Bayas (left) and Ramone Thompson (below) for their outstanding achievement after being selected to represent Central Piedmont at the 2021 North Carolina Community College System Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP).

The program’s mission is to enhance leadership quality for community college students and increase their knowledge of soft skills to prepare them for professional and civic responsibilities. This year, the SLPD has partnered with a top-ranked provider of leadership development training, Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), to offer a virtual program.  Each year, approximately 30 student leaders from community colleges around North Carolina participate.
