Winter is Coming…. Does the College Have Your Cell Number?

As the season for inclement weather approaches, now is the time to make sure the college has all of your up-to-date contact information, so you’ll be the first to know whether you get to leave early (or sleep in) if the college closes due to inclement weather!

Here’s how to confirm, update and add your mobile, office and home phone number(s) – plus any non-Central Piedmont email addresses – to the Critical Alert emergency notification text/phone/email system:

  • Use your Central Piedmont login and password at cpcc.regroup.com
  • Go to the black bar at the top of the screen and click “Preferences”
  • Click on the “email/phone” tab to update and add contact information

The college sends communication concerning severe weather closings and other critical incidents via Critical Alert, email, social media and the Central Piedmont website first before anything is sent to local media. Don’t spend your time waiting for an announcement on TV or radio. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date on Critical Alert now, and simply receive a text and phone call whenever a critical incident occurs.

Please note that you cannot opt out of Critical Alert notification emails to your Central Piedmont account because your Central Piedmont email is the college’s official channel of communication.

Is Your Information Current in CPCC’s Critical Alert System?

In an emergency situation, it’s vital for the College to be able to reach you to provide important information. That’s why you should take a moment to ensure that your contact information is correct in our Critical Alert system and that your mobile number is listed as your primary contact number.

Critical Alert

If there is a college alert, weather situation, or a campus opening or closing, updates will be available through our Critical Alert system (email, text and voice messages). New Critical Alert System! Sign Up Today!

Keeping you safe is one of the College’s top priorities. That’s why we’ve decided to upgrade Critical Alert and the emergency notification system tool we use to contact you in the event of a campus emergency.

Critical Alert! Emergency Notification System

Critical Alert! Emergency Notification System

As of now, all emergency communications from the College will come from Regroup.com. This new tool is extremely user-friendly and includes a variety of new features. Going forward, you’ll be able to:

1.    directly update your contact information in the Emergency Notification System instead of logging in through CPCCLogin.

2.     control whether or not you receive emergency notifications by joining or opting-out of the system.

3.     customize your notifications.

If you are a CPCC student, staff or faculty member who previously signed up to receive notification messages, your contact information will be automatically transferred into the new system. To ensure this information was transferred correctly, a test message will be sent to you on Friday, Feb. 24.

If you do not receive the test message, need to sign up for this service or want to confirm your contact information is correct in the system, please visit https://cpcc.regroup.com.

If you have difficulty accessing the site or inputting your information, please view the tutorial video at http://www.cpcc.edu/emergency-services/critical-alert.

If you have any questions regarding the upgraded service, please contact our Information Technology Services Help Desk at 704.330.5000 or email helpdesk@cpcc.edu.
