Mentorship Can Enhance Your Educational Experience

Mentors helpĀ find the answers to a variety of questions, ranging from academic concerns to the challenges of balancing school and other priorities.

A peer mentor provides the following benefits:

  • increased confidence and self esteem
  • enhanced self-motivation, self-discipline, and goal-setting
  • opportunity to gain knowledge about Central Piedmont’s resources and services, while getting connected to other peers

To be eligible to receive a peer mentor, you must:

  • be currently registered for at least one class at Central Piedmont
  • be open-minded for suggestions
  • maintain a positive attitude
  • get to know your mentor and accept support
  • strive for success and show an interest in academic achievement

Laptop Donation Drive

Have an old laptop? Repurpose by donating it at your campus library anytime between Sept. 16 and Dec. 6. Love-INC will wipe the hard drive and refurbish laptops and Chromebooks to give to needy Central Piedmont students.

In partnership with ITS and First-Year-Experience, the Library is asking for donated laptops that are still in good physical condition. The laptops will be refurbished so that they can meet the basic needs of students, which include web access and word processing. Laptops can be dropped off at Central, Cato, Harper, Harris, Levine, and Merancas libraries. Donation acknowledgment forms are available if desired.

Laptop Parameters:

  • Any laptop
  • Chromebooks will be accepted also
  • Tablets and similar devices cannot be accepted
