You are taking classes at Central Piedmont but have you narrowed down your choices so your major matches your career? Central Piedmont has created a new toolkit to help you choose a program of study that fits your skills and interests.

This guide is designed to help you think through your options and provide you with information and resources to help you decide on a program of study.

You can take assessments, explore our types of degrees, figure out what you can do with your intended major, and learn about different work environments, salary ranges and more.

Career Services offers many resources to find your ideal in-demand career. You can also meet with a career counselor, find jobs on our job board and practice for an interview.

Need a Game Plan After Graduation?

We want to help polish your resume, interview skills and job search strategy.  Here are the top three tips to map out your plan:

  1. Visit Handshake to view employment opportunities, including part-time, full-time and paid internships.  Handshake is the #1 way college students find jobs.  Remember to complete your profile, because you are 5x more likely to be contacted by an employer.

  3. Career Coach – see the top Charlotte area employers for your program!

Learn the basics of making a career decision, including how to:

October Job Search: Resources for Your Job Search!

If you need a job now, you may have visited big job boards like Career Builder and Indeed. But in tight times, it’s a good idea to check other, lesser utilized resources as well. The October Job Search Challenge will focus on two job search tools offered at Central Piedmont and give you a chance to explore them.

  • Central Piedmont Online Job Board– Charlotte area employers post jobs on this board specifically for Central Piedmont students and graduates. Check it out at: www.cpcc.edu/jobboard. New jobs are posted on a regular basis!
  • Career Coach– This website is a career information tool and highlights Central Piedmont programs, but also has some great information about area employers and the skills they are looking for. Check it out at: www.cpcc.edu/careercoach.
