Open House Volunteers Needed!

The Outreach and Recruitment department invites all CPCC students to participate in the 2017 Open House.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We would like to ask you to join us on Saturday, October 21, 2017, as a volunteer. Please take a few minutes to view the available times and volunteer spots.  Please select the time slot and volunteer opportunity that peeks your interest.  Once your selection is made you will receive an email with additional instructions the week prior to the Open House taking place. Finally, you will receive a final confirmation email 48 hours prior to the event.  

When: Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017

Time: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (sign up times vary)

The program begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m.

Location: Worrell Lobby and Gymnasium, CPCC Central Campus

Do you know someone who might be interested in attending CPCC?

Invite them to come to the Open House on Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Worrwll Building.  

They will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the college’s many academic programs and student services, explore CPCC’s Central Campus with one of the college’s Student Ambassadors, and engage in a variety of breakout sessions focusing on important topics such as financial aid, enrollment, Career and College Promise and more.

Volunteers Requested for Disability Services (Various Campuses)

Disability Services are requesting volunteers for the following:

  • Textbook-to-Audio Readers
    • Record your voice as you read textbook chapters and submit audio files
  • Tactile Graphics
    • Bring pictures to life by raising them off the page using everyday art supplies.

Benefits of being a volunteer:

  • Gain perspective of other students at CPCC
  • Volunteer on your own schedule and as needed
  • Provide the platform for other student’s success
  • Conceptualize class materials to get a greater learning experience
  • Learn a new skill

Skyline Run is Around the Corner

The 18th Annual CPCC Skyline Run is right around the corner on April 27, 2013. The Skyline Run consists of the Kaye McGarry 5K Run, the 5K Walk for Health and  the 1K Bank of North Carolina Family Fun Run. Each event offers great prizes and giveaways for participants!

Every year, this event needs more than 100 volunteers to make it a huge success to raise money for student scholarships and other student needs. We rely on our CPCC family to help make this event an amazing every year and we hope that you would love to join us on April 27! On the registration sheet, please either pick the volunteer assignment that you are interested in having OR click that that you are willing to do any opportunity (the last box you can choose on the list).
