Show Boat

Come aboard for an epic American musical! A sweeping tale spanning four decades, Show Boat is a journey into the lives, loves, and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the mighty Mississippi River. Jerome Kern’s Masterpiece is a treasure trove of unforgettable music including “Ol’ Man River,” “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man,” and “You Are Love.” Based on the bestselling novel by Edna Ferber with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, Show Boat set the standard for the Broadway musical for years to come. Jekyll & Hyde

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic thriller, Jekyll & Hyde is the gripping tale of a brilliant mind gone horrifically awry. Set to a powerful pop-rock score by Frank Wildhorn, Jekyll & Hyde traces Dr. Jekyll’s attempt to cure his ailing father’s mental illness by separating “good” from “evil” in the human personality. As his experiments go tragically wrong, Dr. Jekyll inadvertently creates an alternate personality of pure evil, dubbed Mr. Hyde, who wreaks murderous havoc on the city of London. As his fiancée Emma grows increasingly fearful for her betrothed, a prostitute, Lucy, finds herself dangerously involved with both the doctor and his alter ego. Struggling to control Hyde before he takes over for good, Jekyll must race to find a cure for the demon he has created in his own mind before disaster strikes them all.

Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”

Beehive: the 60’s Musical Revue

Beehive: the 60’s Musical Revue is the ultimate celebration of 1960’s female empowerment. Featuring such timeless classics as “My Boyfriend’s Back”, “Be My Baby”, “Son of a Preacher Man”, and “Me and Bobby McGee”, Beehive nostalgically recalls the days of miniskirts, transistor radios and flower power. Told from the perspective of six young women who came of age in that enigmatic decade, these young ladies look back on a host of issues ranging from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation – all accomplished by a vast array of the most celebrated and memorable songs of the era.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder

July 19 – 27

CPCC Summer Theatre brings the local premier of 2014 Tony Award  for Best Musical winner A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder to the Halton stage this summer and the result will leave you dying with laughter. Gilbert & Sullivan on steroids doesn’t begin to do this show justice. You’ll howl with laughter as Monty Navarro murders his way to become the ninth Earl of Highhurst. He only has to bump off eight relatives in line ahead of him and juggle the love of two very different women to see his dreams come true.  With one actor playing all eight of Monty’s victims, who meet their ends in the most creative and side-splitting ways, A Gentleman’s Guide is a must-see for any theatre goer looking for a truly original and fresh new musical comedy that will leave them begging for more.
