A new, interactive space will greet Central Piedmont students and staff when they return from their holiday break. The Elizabeth Ross Art Gallery in Overcash Center will open The Art Hub to kick off the start of the spring semester. The Art Hub is a place for students and staff to get creative, work on art projects and collaborate with each other. The Art Hub will feature a photography studio in the back room of the Ross Gallery, tables for working flat, easels, a mat cutter, a cricut machine, plenty of bean bag chairs and a flatscreen tv for announcements and artsy events. In addition, The Art Hub will offer workshops, meeting space for student clubs and fun events throughout the year such as a mural painting experience and a matting and framing workshop.

The Art Hub is open to Central Piedmont students and staff from all departments. The Overcash Gallery (located directly across the hall from the Ross Gallery), will be available year-round for students to exhibit their artwork for a few weeks at a time. Students will have the opportunity to sign up for exhibition space. This is a great opportunity for students to gain exhibition experience and build confidence in their artistic practice. Central Piedmont Faculty is welcome to take advantage of this exhibition space as well for classroom projects they would like to have on display.

The Art Hub planning and organization was a collaborative effort between Art Gallery staff and Central Piedmont students. The students played a primary role in the planning process of the Art Hub from what elements to include, marketing, decorating and brainstorming different ways to make The Art Hub fun and engaging for students and staff.
