2018 ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT ART SHOW

Exhibition Dates: March 28 – July 18, 2018

An opportunity for students to exhibit their paintings, photographs, prints, sculpture, ceramics, and other work in a professional gallery.

PAST INFORMATION

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7th TO PEASE & ROSS GALLERIES.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Important Dates:

Wednesday, March 7:    Deadline for ALL entries. Student Submission discs or USB flash drives due to Pease or Ross Gallery by 5p.m.  Accepted artists notified by March 13th.

March 13 – 20:               Students have this week to frame accepted works.

Wed, March 21:             Students deliver work to PEASE Gallery, 10am – 2p.m.

Thurs, March 22:           DEADLINE for artwork delivery to Pease Gallery is 2p.m.!

Wed, March 28:             Exhibition officially opens

Tuesday, April 10:          Annual Juried Student Show Awards, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, April 10:          Annual Juried Student Show Reception, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, July 18:     Exhibition closes.

Thurs, July 19 – Tues, July 24: Students pick-up work 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

 

ELIGIBILITY: 

Any student who has been enrolled in ART courses at CPCC within the last year (Spring 2017, Summer and Fall 2017, Spring 2018) may enter work produced as part of their courses.

ENTRIES

All entries must be submitted by the artist.  All entries must be original works that are a product of an assignment in a CPCC ART class, that is: not copies or photographs of other art.  Work may be videos, paintings, drawings, mixed media, photographs, digital photographs, prints, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, or fiber art.  Note: Crafts, kit work or reproductions after original work in other media (such as giclees), unless used as part of a mixed media work, will not be considered. Work that has already been exhibited at CPCC will not be considered for this exhibition.All entries will be considered for the League for Innovation.

ENTRY FEE:

$5.00 for the first three entries, payable by check, cash or credit card. Each artist may enter two additional entries for an additional fee of $5.00 each, up to FIVE entries per artist. Entry fee(s) must be paid when submitting entries. Please make checks payable to CPCC Art Galleries.

AWARDS:  

Awards will be presented in Pease Auditorium at 5:00 p.m. with Opening Reception to follow in Pease Gallery. Only degree-seeking (AFA) students will be eligible for merit-based awards. All students are eligible for Purchase Awards, which will be selected by the purchasing group. Student work purchased through CPCC Art Gallery will be subject to a 20% commission to the gallery.

SPECIFICATIONS:

2-D works on paper, including photography, should be wired, framed and ready to hang.  Paintings must be dry, wired, and framed or gallery wrapped. NOTE: Work requiring special installation must be hung with the artist’s assistance.

Acceptable artwork is limited to what can be displayed professionally in the CPCC Art Galleries. The Gallery Staff reserves the right to exclude any item deemed inappropriate for exhibition.

DIRECTIONS FOR SUBMISSION

Print out and complete the ENTRY FORM.
Put your images on a CD or USB flash drive.
 All images must be .jpg files, and must include, without spaces and in upper and lower case, your name, underscore, and the entry number of the work submitted. Each image must correspond to entries listed on entry form. (Ex: JoeSmith_1.jpg) File Size: no dimension greater than 1280 pixels, or larger than 1MB.

DELIVER THE ENTRY FEE, CD OR USB FLASH DRIVE, AND ENTRY FORM TO  Pease or Ross Gallery
 by Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

Exhibiting artists must deliver their artwork to Pease Gallery Wednesday- Thursday, March 21-22, 2018.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Exhibiting artists may pick up their work at Pease Gallery:

Thursday, July 19       10a.m.- 2p.m.

Friday, July 20            10a.m.- 2p.m.

Monday, July 23:        10a.m.- 2p.m.

Tuesday, July 24:       10a.m.- 2p.m.

All work must be claimed by Tuesday, July 24th  by 2:00 p.m. with signature of artist.

Any remaining work will become the property of CPCC.
