Two Days of Jazz, Tues., 4/23 & Wed., 4/24

Two days of jazz features the students in the CPCC Music Department Jazz Improvisation and Jazz Big Band classes in performance under the direction of Matt Postle. Both concerts will be in Bryant Hall (Sloan 101) at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 & Wednesday, April 24.

Admission is free

L’Académie du Roi Soleil – Thurs., 4/25 @ 12:30 p.m. in Tate Hall


L’Académie du Roi Soleil, an early music ensemble, will present a concert on Thursday, 4/25 @ 12:30 p.m. in Tate Hall.  Admission is free and there is free parking available in Deck #4 on the central campus.

Music Majors accepted to transfer to UNCC, Queens & UNCG

We had four students from the CPCC Music Department audition for transfer to the following universities:  UNCC, UNCG and Queens University — Isaac Chandler, Tang Hsieh, Tou Xiong, and Wanyi Qiu.  All were accepted as performance majors.  Wanyi will double-major in music and nursing.

Classical guitarist, Dr. Elliott Frank, to perform on Thurs., Feb. 21 @ 12:30 p.m. in Tate Hall

Dr. Elliott Frank, director of guitar studies at East Carolina University, has been described as having … “that rare combination of scholarship and artistry. His clean and flawless technique combined with a careful attention to detail and expression, make his playing vibrant, intelligent and captivating.”

Recital to be held in Tate Hall-Overcash on the central campus of CPCC.  It is free and all are invited.
