Come and enjoy an hour of wonderful chamber music this Thursday, 2/6 @ 12:30 p.m., in Tate Hall, as the Bechtler Ensemble returns to present a concert of piano trio music. Leonora Leggatt, violinist/Cynthia Lawing, pianist/ and cellist Tanja Bechtler will be the featured musicians. Included on the program will be an opportunity to hear a rarely-performed work by the Armenian composer, Arno Babjanian.

Duo piano recital, Thurs. Jan. 30 @ 12:30 p.m. in Sloan 101
Former instructor Beverly Russell and music student Darin Kennedy will present a two piano recital on Thursday, January 30th at 12:30 pm in Bryant Hall of the Sloan-Morgan building. The program will include etudes from Six Studies in Canonic Form for Two Pianos, Op. 56 by Robert Schumann/Debussy, the Petite Suite of Claude Debussy and Sonata for Piano Four Hands by Francis Poulenc.

There are two concert opportunities for everyone this final week of the semester:
Monday, Dec. 2 @ 1:30 p.m. in Tate Hall (2nd floor of Overcash) — the CPCC Chorus will present a holiday-themed concert with special guests, Daniel Cornejo, cello and Christine Leimer, harp.
Tuesday, Dec. 3 @ 12:30 p.m. in Sloan 101 — the final applied student recital. There will be lots of variety: guitars, piano, singing, winds and brass.

There are two opportunities remaining to attend the opera extravaganza, Orpheus & Eurydice! There will be singers, a live orchestra, dancers and aerial artists, lovely costumes, scenery and more!

“Stage Fright” — faculty panel Thurs. 10/31 @ 12:30 p.m. in SL 101
At the next faculty panel (on Halloween, no less!!) we will discuss strategies for dealing with performance anxiety, sometimes called “stage fright.” This is an issue for many musicians, so be sure to come with your questions and learn some valuable tips from seasoned performers.
