MUS 271. Music History I. 3.0 Credits. This course is the first of a two-semester, in-depth study of music history. Emphasis is placed on the history and literature of music from Antiquity through the Baroque Period. Upon completion, students should be able to trace important musical developments and demonstrate an understanding of the composers’ styles.
Prerequisites: Take MUS 122
MUS 272. Music History II. 3.0 Credits. This course is the second of a two-semester, in-depth study of music history. Emphasis is placed on the history and literature of music from the Classical Period to the present. Upon completion, students should be able to trace important musical developments and demonstrate an understanding of the composers’ styles.
