About Engineering Programs at Central Piedmont

What’s the difference between engineering technology and engineering science?

Engineering Technology is applied, hands-on, out in the field work.  Engineers typically design and sit behind a desk to work.

Engineering careers require advanced math and science, bachelors degree at a minimum, with many opportunities demanding masters and phd degrees.

Engineering Technology degrees allow immediate transition from college to employment.  Many ET degrees are created directly from workforce needs.  Two such examples are Mechatronics and Biomedical Equipment Technology.   These programs were created at the request of industry partners to train on specific skill sets that candidates lacked.
