Visit the Professional Clothing Closet to be job ready
Fit check! Ready to go on interviews after graduation, or do you need clothes for that big new job or summer internship?
The Central Piedmont Professional Clothing Closet is here to help with up to four professional, gently-used outfits, to help you build your work wardrobe.
The closet is located at Central Campus in the Worrell Building and is available for students. You can sign up for a Tuesday shopping date in the Google Form.

Join CyberHype to connect!
This event will inspire participants to grow themselves and their career within the Charlotte area technology community, and for individuals to be able to get a seat at the table for shaping the community through technology crews.

Celebrating our May 2023 Graduates
We can’t wait to celebrate our newest Central Piedmont graduates on Thursday, May 11. Two ceremonies will be held at Bojangles Coliseum.
Guests can attend in-person for the 10 a.m. and the 2 p.m. ceremonies, and you can also view the livestreams on YouTube. Nearly 1900 students are receiving degrees and diplomas this semester.

Priority Registration for Fall 2023 begins April 28
Priority registration for fall 2023 classes begins Friday, April 28, depending on the number of credits you have completed. Make sure you have consulted your advisor and are prepared with which classes you should take. (Summer registration is ongoing, with seats still available for classes that begin May 17.)
- Register for classes you need for your program in MyCollege: Select “Student Planning” to choose classes for your schedule.
- Add your courses to your shopping cart, and on your fall priority registration date/time, go to MyCollege to check out.
Do you have money lined up for school? There is money available to help you pay for school that you don’t have to pay back. You should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year, to see if you’re eligible. Apply for the 2023-24 school year now, and use our school code: 002915. You can also log into the Central Piedmont scholarship portal to apply for scholarships.
If you owe more than $200 in tuition for a term, the new Tuition Payment Plan will help spread out your bill into smaller payments.

Student Equity Council Meet-and-Greet
The Student Equity Council is doing big things! The student group held a meet and greet to get to know each other, and learned about goals for the 2023-24 school year. These plans include participating in more healing circles around various issues and populations, including race, gender, LGBTQIA+, veterans, accessibility, survivors, and mental health, and are planning collaborations with other student groups.

Student Art Show Open through July 27
Each year, Central Piedmont’s Visual Arts Department hosts the Annual Juried Student Art Show, recognizing student works in ceramics, 2D and 3D design, drawing, jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
You can experience the entire show through the exhibit at Central Campus, inside the Overcash Center in the Ross and Overcash Art Galleries. The Annual Juried Student Art Show will be open through July 27, Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Student artwork is chosen by a judge to be included in this celebratory exhibition to showcase our students’ work completed in their studio classes.
Students who have works featured in the show receive a variety of awards, ranging from the Presidential Purchase Award; Foundation Purchase Award; first, second, and third place awards; along with several others.

Central Piedmont Community College Library Services and Student Engagement are hosting a Slam Poetry Showcase on Wednesday, April 26 from 11a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Central Campus, by the Parr Center Collaboration Stairs.
Slam poetry master Bluz Rogers (Instagram: @bluzbluzbluz) will be our emcee! Do you have an original slam poetry piece you want to share? Register at this link to showcase your piece.

Plant Sale at Cato Campus
Whether you’re looking for the latest plant for your collection, or you’re ready to start a vegetable garden, the Central Piedmont horticulture students have you covered– unless your plants need partial or full sun. (Get it? Yes, we are making gardening jokes. All types of plants will be available).
The annual spring 2023 Cato Campus horticulture plant sale will be held:

Come get your summer vegetables and herbs for your summer gardens. They also have flowers, assorted landscape plants, houseplants, and hanging baskets.
Apply for the 23XI Racing Scholarship
Stop by the Parr Center at Central Campus on Tuesday, April 11 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. to meet with representatives from 23XI Racing, as they have teamed up with Dr Pepper to offer $5,000 in tuition to 23 deserving students across the country.
Qualifications:
- Students interested in applying for the tuition program must be between 18 and 24 years old.
- Students with diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Individuals meeting these qualifications can apply via a simple video submission process, sharing their story and explaining why they deserve a tuition award. Application deadline: April 30, 2023
Dr Pepper and 23XI are committed to supporting diversity in racing and promoting economic empowerment through the Dr Pepper 23XI SPEED Institute Tuition Program. Created to amplify the efforts of the 23XI SPEED Institute (Scholarship, Professional Education, Executive Development), Dr Pepper will award 23 students each with $5,000 in tuition, and 23XI’s SPEED Institute may award two tuition recipients with exclusive internships.

23XI Internship Information:
We provide paid internships ($15/her) on-site and virtual per semester in Finance/Accounting(summer), Marketing, PR, Engineering (summer), Social and Digital Media, and Partnership management for 10 weeks. Students attend a race, will complete a project, attend 1-hour sessions on Presentation 101, Networking/Building Relationships, Social Media and Finance 101.
Internship dates:
- Summer 2023 – May 22 July 28
- Fall 2023 – Sept 11 – Nov 17
Levine Campus Fire Drill April 10-14
The college will be holding a fire drill at Levine campus next week (April 10-14). During the fire evacuation drill you will hear the fire alarm sound, see strobe lights flashing, and hear voice commands to evacuate, coming from both building captains and Central Piedmont Security. Please evacuate outside to the nearest rally point sign.
We ask for your full cooperation during these drills. The expected duration for each drill will be approximately 10-15 minutes.
