NCAIE Global Leadership and International Engagement Student Conference 🌍

We are excited to announce that Central Piedmont will host the NCAIE Global Leadership and International Engagement Student Conference! This conference is for any North Carolina college student passionate about working across cultures and developing a global mindset.

Conference Theme: “Building Bridges in Times of Uncertainty”

📅 Date: Saturday, October 26
📍 Location: Central Campus. Parr Center

Conference Highlights:

  • Network with fellow students and establish new relationships 🤝
  • Attend sessions led by North Carolina students focused on global leadership and exchange
  • Participate in a service-learning project to create “reverse swag bags” of school supplies for immigrant children served by International House of Charlotte ✏️

month of September, we’re coming together to create a community quilt, and we want you to join us—no experience needed!

Event Details 📅:

  • When: September- all month long!
  • Where: Central Campus, Overcash Building, Room 110 (Art Hub)

Ways to Participate:

  • Bring a Square: Contribute a quilt square you already have.
  • Make One Here: Use our tools to cut and create your own quilt square in the Art Hub.
  • Open to All: Students, faculty, and staff are welcome!

At the end of the month, we’ll proudly display the completed quilt for everyone to see. Let’s stitch together something amazing! 🧶

Central Piedmont celebrated the opening of its new Campus Wellness Center earlier this month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by U.S. Congresswoman Alma Adams and President Dr. Kandi Deitemeyer.

About the New Wellness Center:

  • Location: Central Campus
  • Services Offered:
    • 🐕 Therapy dogs
    • 🧘 Yoga sessions
    • 💬 Counseling services
    • 🌿 A range of resources for mental health support

Key Highlights:

  • Congressional Support: Congresswoman Adams, who represents the NC 12th district, played a crucial role in securing a $575,000 award to renovate and equip the center. This funding was provided through the Health Resources and Services Administration.
  • Purpose: The Campus Wellness Center is designed to be a safe and supportive space where students and staff can address their mental health needs, manage stress, and find strategies to balance academic and personal life.
  • Central Piedmont’s Vision: “We envision the Campus Wellness Center as a central hub for our students and employees to access the resources needed to support their success academically, in the workplace, and in the community,” said President Deitemeyer.
