Carihua Vela is a Truist Honors Scholar majoring in biology. She is set to graduate in spring 2025 with an associate in science on the Biological Sciences Pathway.

Additionally, Carihua Vela feels leadership is important “not only for bosses but for members of a community to learn how to collaborate with others.”

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities.
