Let’s shape our Central Piedmont together. Your story, your voice, your college.
I am currently in the middle of my second semester at Central Piedmont. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the physical therapist assistant program in the fall of 2023, and am looking forward to completing the program in the spring of 2025. I commute over 50 miles 4-5 days per week to attend class on this beautiful campus. My experience on campus has been awesome. From the bookstore, to the sandwich shop across the street from the health careers building, everyone has been extremely helpful. The instructors go above and beyond to foster a positive environment for learning to take place. I found out about central piedmont while searching online for careers suitable for those with exercise and sports science degrees, and was drawn to the PTA program here. I’m letting those in my community (Anson County) know about the possibilities available at Central Piedmont Community College.
I am about to complete my first year at CPCC. I was scared before I started. Because I didn’t think I am ready for meet new people and go back school after 5 years. But I was wrong. I had really good friendship with my classmates even we don’t speak same language. we found our way to communicate speaking English. At CPCC, every day is educator, and I am glad I am part of it. With Brightspace everything you can find easily. I can check my assignments every other week or I can find announcements at the course home page. CPCC is the one of the good opportunities for me and I get ready myself in here for my future.
I am still in my first year of CPCC and so far it has been absolutely amazing!! Everywhere you go there is a person or a class that are available for you in order to better benefit your expierance. All the teachers i’ve had so far share the joy of teaching students to be there better student self and they help in personal development. Before I started attedning CPCC i was really bad about my timely manner and deadlines but my teachers helped encourage me to try a little harder and helped improve my determination and thinking to get assignemtns done on time and to my full ability. They show many ways to learn something so it’s easier to grasp onto what they are saying to help make the learning smoother. I am really happy with the “college experience” i have been able to have through CPCC and its foundations.
I am a senior in the IB Diploma program at Myers Park High School, however, I am also dual-enrolled as a student at Myers Park High School. I think Brightspace has been one of the most positive parts of my Central Piedmont Community College experience. It is extremely useful to use and makes me feel connected to my instruct and peers, even virtually through tabs such as “announcements” and “discussions”. I constantly feel informed about what is going on in my classes and at the community college as a whole. I believe the best area for growth is growing the dual-enrollment program, so that kids are already accustomed to the school and are more likely to apply. I know that we are a smaller demographic than most students, but I often feel like it is hard to access programs that are advertised to other students, simply since we’re not constantly at the campus. It would also be great to find ways for students to connect and interact more virtually, especially for blended, hybrid, or entirely remote classes. Overall, I do think the dual-enrollment program and community college itself have grown significantly and I have had a very positive experience with both!
When I first was welcomed to cpcc it was 2002, it was just smaller I would go down stairs to the learning lab to complete my course assignments and quizzes. Since now 2024 Cpcc has so many opportunities and has expanded the campus. it is more inviting and offers so much resources. I am grateful to be apart of the campus success in which the diversity ,the experience it offers to young adults as well as Highschool students to prepare for their future.
