Please be aware that some students are currently experiencing issues when attempting to access library databases from off-campus. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Welcome to an early fall semester! Hopefully, you had a fantastic summer and are ready to get back into the swing of things. With the beginning of a new semester, we’d just like to take some time to remind you of a few of the services that the library has to offer, as well as highlight some recent changes.
Books and More!
As always, the library wants to help out with your research and educational needs. To that end, we provide access to a wide variety of resources, both in print and online.
To find out what books or DVDs are available in the library (or in electronic format), check out the online library catalog.
If you are looking for research articles or educational online videos, have a look at our Research Databases.
Need help using either one of these resources? Don’t be afraid to Ask a Librarian! Library staff are available to help in person, over the phone or online.
Study Space? We Have That!
Need a quiet place to study? All CPCC campus libraries have dedicated quite study spaces. Additionally, Central, Cato and Levine campuses have group study rooms available.
Got Fines? Pay Online!
If you have library fines, you now have more than one option to pay. In addition to paying in person at any CPCC library, you may now also pay for library fines online.
Faculty Resources
We also offer a number of resources just for faculty. Be sure to check out our Faculty Resources page to see what we can offer you.
Ch-Ch-Changes
Over the summer, the Central Campus Library experienced a number of changes:
Pictures of all these changes are below.
Have a great semester!
QR (short for quick response) codes are invading the book stacks at all CPCC campus libraries. Originally used to help auto manufacturers to keep track of parts, QR codes are increasingly being used to promote information about products and events by a wide variety of industries. The library is making use of these codes to help you find more information about resources in specific areas, such as art, math and English.
So, how does one make use of a QR code? A smartphone, such as an iPhone, Android or Blackberry is needed. There are many free apps available to decode QR codes. Try one of these:
Look for these codes in the book stacks at your campus library. More will be arriving in the coming months!
Welcome back to school for the spring semester…finally! (And, for those of you new to CPCC, welcome for the first time!) Hopefully, everyone got through our recent snow event safe and sound.
Just a few reminders for the beginning of the semester:
Have a great semester!
Welcome new students and welcome back to returning students! Libraries are located on all CPCC Campuses. Check our website for hours and locations. CPCC Libraries offers many resources and services to help you succeed.
Check out these NEW features in the Library Catalog!

Non-Mecklenburg county residents who currently attend classes at CPCC are eligible to take advantage of all the services and resources available through the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County (PLCMC). All you need is a PLCMC library card. To get your card, bring your current CPCC Student ID to any PLCMC branch.
At CPCC Library we know that sifting through the wealth of information available on the Internet and in library resources can be overwhelming. In an effort to help connect you with relevant and trustworthy information subject guides are now available in the Research Tools section of the CPCC Library website.
We are currently offering 16 guides in PDF format covering subjects from allied health to welding. Each guide has search tips and lists recommended resources including article databases, websites, books, and more! We hope that by highlighting a few key resources in each subject area these guides will serve to provide a solid start to your research.
