There will be a PBS film preview of “Deep Down: A Story from the Heart of Coal Country” on Tuesday, Nov 16. The film documents the opposing debate that ensued between two people who grew up on a mountain ridge in eastern Kentucky, when a mountaintop removal coal mine encroaches on their community. It portrays the struggle in choosing between conservation and jobs during dire economic times.
The one-hour film will be followed by a talk and discussion with Ulla Reeves, Regional Program Director of Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.
