Academic Computing Areas

We know that sometimes it can be hard to find an open computer on the 1st floor of the library and in order to help alleviate that problem we are offering two more options for computing within the Central Campus Library. For those of you looking to hunker down and get to work on a term paper or take and online test in BlackBoard, we now offer academic-only computing areas on the 2nd and 4th floors. See below for information on each floor —

LR 205 (2nd Floor)

  • Quiet Study classroom for CPCC students, faculty, and staff
  • Only one user per station; group work is not encouraged in LR 205
  • Cell phones are to be turned off
  • Chat rooms or games not related to class work are not permitted
  • Videos or music not related to class work are not permitted
  • Students engaged in non-academic work will be asked to relinquish his/her computer
  • No food, but beverages with lids are permitted
  • Hours of operation for LR205 vary, call 704-330-6884 for the current schedule.

Learning Commons (4th Floor)

  • CPCC students ONLY
  • Group work is encouraged, but be respectful of others
  • Cell phones are to be turned off
  • Chat rooms or games not related to class work are not permitted
  • Videos or music not related to class work are not permitted
  • Students engaged in non-academic work will be asked to relinquish his/her computer
  • No food, but beverages with lids are permitted
