Meet the Cast of Irving Berlin’s I Love a Piano

CPCC Theatre presents I Love a Piano: The Music of Irving Berlin Feb 12 through 21 in the Halton Theatre. The amazing cast of six tell the story of the prolific song writer Irving Berlin from the days of Tin Pan Alley to post war America.

J. Michael Beech is excited to make his CPCC Theatre debut. I Love a Piano marks J. Michael’s second appearance in a Charlotte, having been seen last year as Pontius Pilate at Theatre Charlotte. From Raleigh, J. Michael currently teaches Theatre Arts, Creative Writing and Film as Literature at East Gaston High School. Favorite roles include Frankie in Forever Plaid (National Tour), Henry Ford in Ragtime and Captain Schultz in Miss Saigon.

Ryan Deal is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this production and to be back in the beautiful Halton Theatre! Favorite past credits include Phantom of the Opera (Phantom) and Les Miserables (Valjean) at CPCC, The Secret Garden (Archibald) at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte and Assassins (The Balladeer) at CAST. As Music Director, Ryan has collaborated on over a dozen local productions including Rent and Hair at Theatre Charlotte and [title of show] at Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte. Andy Faulkenberry is thrilled to return to the Halton stage once again, having recently appeared in the CPCC productions of They’re Playing Our Song, Legally Blonde, Hello Dolly!, My Fair Lady, and Bye Bye Birdie. In addition to performing with CPCC, Andy has many other theatrical credits from performing, directing, and choreographing regionally as well as occasionally throughout the states. In 2014, Andy was a recipient of the Metrolina Theatre Association’s Best Lead Actor in a Musical award for his role as Princeton/Rod in Theatre Charlotte’s production of Avenue Q, and he was also nominated as Creative Loafing’s Theatre Newcomer of the Year in 2009. He has also enjoyed performing in numerous other theatrical productions, cabarets, concerts, and charity events with other local producing organizations, including Theatre Charlotte, CPCC Summer Theatre, Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, Carolina Voices, Fort Mill Community Playhouse, and Carowinds theme park. “Many thanks to Ron and Ellen for the opportunity to share this adventure together, and much love to family and friends for their laughs, love, and support in all that I do!”

Kayla Ferguson is really excited to perform in her second show at CPCC. Her previous theatre credits include Chicago (ensemble), Into the Woods (Rapunzel), Les Miserable (Eponine), Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal), as well as performances in Opera. Enjoy the show!

Corinne Littlefield is thrilled to be back on the Halton Stage in I Love A Piano. Originally from New Canaan CT, she holds a degree in Theatre and Dance from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster PA. Some favorite roles include Nancy in Oliver!, Hedy LaRue in How to Succeed in Business…, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Maggie Anderson in Brigadoon. She would like to thank her family for their constant love and support.

Megan Magden Postle has thoroughly enjoyed performing in four previous CPCC theatre productions over the past year, most recently, The Phantom of the Opera (Wardrobe Assistant/Confidante). A classically trained vocalist, Megan has had the opportunity to perform nationally and internationally in various mediums from opera to pop music. An advocate for music and theatre education, Megan currently serves as Performing Arts Director at Trinity Episcopal School as well as maintaining her own private studio specializing in pre-collegiate training. She would like to thank her husband, Damon and her mom for all their love and support.

CPCC Theatre Announces Cast of I Love a Piano

CPCC Theatre is happy to announce the cast of I Love a Piano: The Music of Irving Berlin.

Ryan Deal, Megan Postel, J. Michael Beech, Corrine Littlefield, Andy Falkenberry and Kayla Ferguson.

The show will be choreographed and directed by Ron Chisholm with Music Direction by Ellen Robison.

Final Round of Auditions for I Love a Piano

Final round of auditions tonight at 7:00pm for CPCC Theatre’s production of I Love a Piano: The Music of Irving Berlin. Auditions will be held in the rehearsal hall in the Halton Theater building. Overcash 300.

 
We are looking for 3 men and 3 women for the production. Rehearsal begins January 4th. Performances February 12 – 21. You do not have to be a current CPCC student to audition. Bring a prepared song of 16 to 32 bars. An accompanist will be provided. Be dressed to move. Ron Chisholm Director/Choreographer. Ellen Robison Music Director.
