CPCC Theatre Auditions for Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

CPCC Theatre will hold auditions for Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead on Monday February 15th and Tuesday February 16th at 7:00pm in Pease Auditorium on the CPCC Central Campus.  Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will be directed by Tom Hollis.

We are seeking 2 – 6 women and 15- 20 men and 1 teenage boy. All other characters vary in an age range of 20 -45. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Join CPCC Theatre in commemorating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s passing with our production of the acclaimed modern comedic masterpiece, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. Tom Stoppard’s play is the fabulously inventive tale of Hamlet as told from the worm’s-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare’s play. In Tom Stoppard’s best-known work, this Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead role, but do so in a world where echoes of Waiting for Godot resound, where reality and illusion intermix, and where fate leads our two heroes to a tragic but inevitable end. – The New York Times called it – “Very funny, very brilliant, very chilling; it has the dust of thought about it and the particles glitter excitingly in the theatrical air.” The winner of both the Tony Award and NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, Rosencrantz… is as the The New York Daily News wrote “A stimulating, funny, imaginative comedy.”
