My border collie cheerfully greets all who enter the house. I created this piece to reflect his nature and placed a keepsake charm on his collar. All guests will surely feel luck and happiness when they are in the presence of the piece.

“Vase with Birds” was created using a hand building technique that gives me the opportunity to express the beauty of the clay as a material, and allows me to freely express my heart’s emotions. Painting the piece with natural images, such as birds, allowed meto incorporate nature’s perfect beauty and symmetry

Artist Statement
Born in Portugal, I was fortunate enough to travel and experience a diversity of countries and cultures. My background as a graphic designer enabled me to develop an artistic perception that relates to the imagery of pop culture. I believe that art, as a multi-dimensionally complex communication form, has the responsibility of reflecting the issues of current life as well as captivating the viewer’s attention in its narrative.

Captured this image in 2015 during a riot in downtown Phoenix for Black Lives Matter. I managed to capture the silence and respect between the police and the rioter. This photo displays how the media can twist a story and make one side look like a monster but really this picture shows how the respect and peace went both ways. That we are all scared and are all human.
