Artist Statement:
I want to hear the soft whisper of nature – the sound of wind, the spirit of trees, the voice of the ocean carried through a conch shell. If you listen carefully, you can hear the whisper.

Artist Statement:
Within the quiet is where I continually rediscover who I am created to be and experience my faith in meaningful ways. When I am communicating with God, I feel safe and loved. This self-portrait endeavors to capture how I feel in that space – in that precious time.

Various objects were carefully chosen to create this composition. The spotlight effect allowed me to use shadows, reflective surfaces, and highlights to create relationships which resulted in an intended calming effect.

Artist Statement:
“Nautilus Cured” expresses the main character’s experience as a post-mortal and the influence that death has on individual growth. The contrast of natural, symmetrical, and whole elements with underlying “cracked”, “chipped”, and intrusively inorganic ones shows the influence of man-made advancements and the contrast between
living and existing.
