Captured this image in 2015 during a riot in downtown Phoenix for Black Lives Matter. I managed to capture the silence and respect between the police and the rioter. This photo displays how the media can twist a story and make one side look like a monster but really this picture shows how the respect and peace went both ways. That we are all scared and are all human.

Artist Statement
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved art. It has always been a way for me to escape, focus, and feel a sense of control. In the future, I plan to go into art therapy and show others how they can use art to help themselves grow as individuals, and productive members of society. Art has always been therapeutic for me, and I know it can have a strong effect on others too.

I am a smoker. When I started, I only smoked once a week and thought I could stop anytime. Now I smoke twice a day. I started gathering the wood tips from the Black & Milds I smoked about hal fway through the semester. This piece is a reminder that I am still young and can stop before it takes over.
