The Bob L. Moss Civil Engineering program curriculum provides the application of relevant theory of engineering needed by technicians to carry out planning and supervisory tasks in the construction of transportation systems, residential and commercial buildings, bridges, dams, and water and waste-water treatment. The Associate in Applied Science degree in civil engineering technology program at Central Piedmont is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (abet.org). This degree is accepted at some colleges and universities towards the first two years of a 2 + 2 bachelor’s-level engineering technology program.
Coursework includes the communication and computational skills required to support the fields, such as environmental technology and surveying. Additional coursework will cover the operation of computers and application software, including computer-aided drafting (CAD).
Prospective students should contact the program chair to identify which civil engineering technology program pathway best suits their career objectives.
