Animals on Campus: Understanding Policy 6.26 Now available in Learner Web for PD credit for staff and faculty! Launch the course now!
Take this interactive course to learn about your responsibilities as an employee if a student brings a service animal to campus.
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to recognize the guidelines of the Animals on Campus Policy, 6.26 and apply the guidelines of the policy to scenarios presented in the course. Learners will participate in an interactive course that will address the following Learning Outcomes: I. Learners will recognize the definition of a service animal II. Learners will demonstrate how to locate the Animal’s on Campus Policy (6.26) on the CPCC website III. Learners will analyze scenarios involving students and service animals and apply the Animals on Campus Policy to the scenarios IV. Learners will practice the process of submitting a report of a concern/issue of an animal on campus.

Staff and faculty, please join us for an experiential learning opportunity! Presenters will highlight various disability cases and discuss the outcomes of each. Upon completion learners will increase their knowledge and level of comfort when responding to students with disabilities.

Schedule of Trainings:
9-10am: Pick a Disability
Purpose: This session is designed to increase your confidence in your ability to work and interact with people with disabilities. It seeks to reduce fear and discomfort through the exploration of biases, myths, misperceptions, and stereotypes. It provides information on appropriate language and etiquette when interacting with people with disabilities.
10:30-11:30am: Traumatic Brain Injury
Purpose: To increase awareness of the range and scope of this disability and explores accommodations.
