National Student Day
National Student Day is a day to celebrate students and all of their efforts regarding social responsibility. Students are empowered and are creating change in their communities and on campus through volunteerism and even through random acts of kindness. To celebrate National Student Day on October 3, we will be kicking off a social media sweepstakes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity International.
Students are asked to submit photos via Instagram, Facebook and Twitter which capture social responsibility. Images can be of student’s volunteer activities, student group efforts and more. For each photo that is submitted with the hashtag (#studentsdoinggood) Barnes and Noble College Booksellers will donate $1 to Habitat for Humanity (up to $25,000).
On National Student Day, Oct. 3, Barnes and Noble College Booksellers will announce one winner to receive a B&N gift card. However, the photos will continue to flow in throughout the year until we reach the $25,000 donation goal! Additionally, on National Student Day, we will be offering a Flash Sale for Students – $10 off regularly priced sweatpants and hoodies – to celebrate. Make sure you stop in to the Central, Levine, or Cato Campus bookstore on Oct. 3!
Do you plan on attending any of this year’s Sensoria events? If so, snap a few photos while you’re there and participate in the “Sensoria in a Snap” photo contest. We want to see all angles of this unique celebration of the arts, so feel free to take pictures at any event that you’re interested in. (Certain events are photo prohibited.) All photos will be judged and the winner will receive a FREE dinner for four to CPCC’s Greenway Restaurant!
