Modern Twist to a Classic Opera

Giuseppe Verdi’s classic opera gets a modern interpretation when CPCC Opera Theatre brings “La Traviata” to the Halton Theater, November 16 – 18.   Set in 1960s New York, rather than Paris of the 1850s, this production has been described as having a “Mad Men” feel. While the setting is more modern, this story of romance with glorious music, conducted by Maestro Alan Yamamoto, is timeless.

A special VIP reception will be held on opening night, Friday, November 16, from 6:30 – 7:45 p.m. in Overcash room 113.  Enjoy wine and delicious tastings created by CPCC Baking & Pastry Arts students.

Tickets are $16-$18 for the general audience and $5 for CPCC students, faculty or staff (one ticket per CPCC ID).  Tickets for the VIP reception are $15 (“La Traviata” tickets are sold separately).

Visit or call 704.330.6534 to experience some of the brightest young vocal talents in the region.
