Please join us for a group lecture and reception celebrating “Carolina Landscapes” and “Past & Present” at Levine Campus this Thursday, September 13, 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., LVI 2150 Auditorium.
Following the lecture, all are invited to the Bill and Patty Gorelick Gallery on the first floor of Levine II, Levine Campus for light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artists.
“Past & Present” artist Ashley Lathe, CPCC visual arts studio faculty, and “Carolina Landscapes” artists Serge Skiba and Bruce Lacy, will share and discuss their art in the auditorium.
Ashley Lathe’s series, “Spectators” uses archival photographs, prints, film and video to focus on the gatherings of people to witness a spectacle through politics, sports and entertainment.
Serge Skiba travels the Carolinas capturing the region’s diverse landscapes through photography. His photographs are then printed on metal, creating a unique, dramatic presentation. Bruce Lacy turns wood from around the world to embellish and highlight perceived imperfections and to create one-of-a-kind vessels.
