Get “FIT”

On Thursday, March 29, 2012, Young Success (YS) from Johnson C. Smith University will visit Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) through their partnership with the College’s Minority Male Mentoring Program (3MP).  The event will be held in the Overcash Building, Room 220 at 1 p.m.

This visit is part of the Young Success FIT Tour, which features Wells Fargo. “FIT” is defined as being “financially in-tuned.” Young Success is an organization for scholars that was founded at Johnson C. Smith University by business major Geoffrey Griffin, along with Joyce-Ray Lutu, Marcus Twine, and Kyle Holeman. The group, now with more than 10 faithful members, aims to empower youth to completely understand what financial literacy is, how to recognize value and leverage resources.

Wells Fargo representatives will be in attendance during the tour to speak to scholars on the importance and definition of being “financially in-tuned” and how to achieve financial freedom. The first stop of the Young Success FIT Tour was University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, where the team partnered with the United Business Professionals (UBP) Day, a student organization at UNCC. The last stop will be coming to JCSU soon. The experience is to be infused with several prize giveaways, and you are invited. If you consider yourself to be young or even “seasoned,” add to your success early, with the Young Success FIT Tour!

For more information about Young Success or the Young Success FIT Tour, please contact Geoffrey Griffin (President) or Kyle Holeman (Vice President) via email at and a representative will respond as soon as it is convenient. Also check out YS on and Twitter @thenYsuccess.
