“50 Shades of Pink” with the CASA Club

Join the Cosmetic Arts and Science Association (CASA) for an exclusive event on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Our Cosmetology students will be offering mini manicures, including a luxury complimentary paraffin dip. There is an $8 minimum donation. All proceeds will be donated to The Pink House: A Breast Cancer Organization. Join us at the City View Center 1609 Alleghany St., Charlotte, NC, 28208.

Wear Your Pink on Oct. 22

To support breast cancer awareness month at CPCC, the college’s MAN UP Program is encouraging the campus community – including students – to wear pink on October 22. To commemorate the occasion, the group invites all Breast Cancer Awarenessparticipants to meet in the Overcash Lobby at 12:30 p.m. to have a group photo taken. CPCC Cosmetology Helps Fight Breast Cancer

CPCC Cosmetic Arts and Science Association (CASA) presents a strand to fight cancer:
Beginning September 16, 2014, until the end of October, CPCC Cosmetology Salon will be offering the following service in support of Breast Cancer Awareness:
Shampoo and Style (Blow dry, style, or Roller set) with a strand colored pink (requires pre-lightening the strand with the addition of the pink color may last up to four weeks): $10
Portions of the proceeds will be donated to hairwalkcharlotte.org.

Presbyterian Mobile Breast Cancer Center Visits CPCC Campuses in October

Is it time for your mammogram? Breast Cancer
Presbyterian Mobile Center will be on-site in October and CPCC staff and students, ages 40 – 64, are welcome!
WHERE: CPCC Central Campus Quad: October 9 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
CPCC Harris Campus: October 10 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Do I need an appointment? Pre-registration is preferred (however walk-ins are welcome). To schedule an appointment. please call 704.384.7226, press “0” and request mobile.*
* Uninsured women may receive a FREE mammogram. To see if you qualify, please call 704.384.5250 or 704.384.8202. An appointment will be scheduled if you meet all of the requirements.
Is this covered by insurance? Mammograms are covered as a preventive screening each year under most insurance plans beginning at age 40; however, it must be one year since your previous mammogram. Mammograms are covered at 100 percent, without paying a co-pay, if you receive N.C. State Health Plan benefits. For your convenience, we will file a claim with your insurance provider on your behalf.
What if my last mammogram was not at a Presbyterian facility? You can still receive a mammogram on Presbyterian’s Mobile Mammography Unit. Our team will contact your previous provider to obtain films from your most recent mammogram. Past results are necessary to ensure that no changes have occurred in your breast health.
