Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Bake Sale/Fundraiser

The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant students will be participating in a service project over the next few weeks. They will be gathering items to donate to a local organization called David’s Backpacks for the Homeless. David’s Backpacks for the Homeless started in February 2014 with one backpack given out. Since then, more than 300 backpacks have been distributed.  This group packs backpacks with necessity items that most of us take for granted. They distribute them weekly on the streets of Charlotte and surrounding counties to the homeless community. Each backpack is filled with 30 items. If you would like to donate any of the items you may drop them off in the Health Careers Building Mailroom on the 3rd floor (Room 3545) or send to Program Chair Kathleen Rodgers, HE Room 3547 or email Kathleen.rodgers@cpcc.edu for pick up.

The OMA students will have a BAKE SALE at the Health Careers building on Central Campus on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Come by and grab some goodies if you would like to drop off your donation or find out more information about David’s Backpacks for the Homeless.
