Kayla Jackson was encouraged by her mother to start dancing when she was just three years old and when she expressed an interest in entering the Lincoln County Apple Queen Pageant, her mother wholeheartedly supported her throughout the process. Watching Jackson dance and her performance during the pageant, it’s hard to believe that she’s struggled with self-confidence much of her life.

While her reign as Apple Queen will only last a year, it’s her dancing that will continue on. A 2019 East Lincoln High School graduate, Jackson is now enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College before transferring to a four-year college, hopefully in New York, to study dance education.
