In support of our student community with natural hair, Central Piedmont’s Cosmetology Department is giving students a chance to win services offered in the City View Salon.

Your natural hair is your crowning glory. It has been with you your whole life, traveling through the complicated but beautiful growth of self. The story of your hair is a beautiful narrative that is all your own. We would love to hear about your journey to and through acceptance and pride of your natural hair.

Submit to us a short essay (500 words or less) about your natural hair journey and an image that celebrates your hair for a chance to win a $75 gift certificate for natural hair services at the City View Salon.  Submit your stories to the natural hair care instructor: sonya.ford@cpcc.edu  by Monday, March 18 by 5 p.m. for consideration for the grand prize.

This is Central Piedmont’s first Natural Hair Care Health and Beauty Festival and we are aiming to make it a central a significant part of the Sensoria Celebration. We hope you will join in the spirit and fun of the event by being a part of it and helping us to celebrate the culture of Natural Hair Care.
