Cyber Crime Danger: Awareness and Prevention Event

Join FBI Special Agent Brian Cyprian to learn more about the cyber threats and trends we’re facing now, and how to keep safe in an increasingly risky online world. We all know how quickly technology is Cyber Crime image of man in hood over keyboardadvancing in today’s interconnected society, but there are ways we unknowingly put our digital safety at risk. Agent Cyprian runs the cyber squad at the Charlotte Field Office of the FBI and will detail the various cyber threats we face internationally – and in Charlotte – including cyber scams, identity theft, ransomware and phishing; the types and groups of people who are committing these crimes; and what the best practices are to protect yourself, your family and the college from these predators. If time permits, Special Agent Cyprian will also take questions at the end of his discussion and can talk with students about the career opportunities in his field. Due to the sensitivity of the information presented by the FBI at this event, we are not able to record or live-stream this presentation.
