The CPCC Career Fair is Thursday, March 9 – do you know what you’re wearing?
Planning to come to the CPCC Career Fair, but not sure what to wear? You don’t need to break the bank on a suit to look polished and professional.
If you are attending the career fair to find a job, think of your encounter with an employer as the first step of a job interview. A suit is great, but you could also wear nice pants with a jacket. For men, a button down shirt with a tie is appropriate, and for women, a nice blouse with a skirt or pants and a jacket or a nice dress. Clothing should be wrinkle-free and ideally in conservative colors.
If you are attending the career fair to learn more about companies in the area, business casual is appropriate. For men, consider wearing a collared shirt with nice pants and possibly a tie. Women should wear nice pants or a skirt with a nice blouse.
Remember that you’re there to make a great first-professional impression, so avoid wearing sneakers and denim. More tips on what to wear (and avoid) are available on www.cpcc.edu/career/fair/dress-for-success.
