CPCC Students Attend Annual MLK Prayer Breakfast

On Monday, Jan. 18, select students from the Office of Mentoring and Bridge Programs (MAN UP Program, Communities in Colleges and the Positive Communities for Women) represented Central Piedmont MAN UPCommunity College at the 22nd Annual MLK Prayer breakfast hosted by H.L. McCrorey Family YMCA.  They had the opportunity to meet and interact with various leaders like Malcolm Graham, who is the former State Senator and this year’s keynote speaker. Mr. Graham’s speech touched our students because he spoke about his sister (who is one of the Charleston 9) and the fact she would want others who grieve over injustice to get up and go to work to change a system that still tolerates poverty, racial hatred, gun violence and unequal access to quality education.
