Career Services, Workplace Learning and Student Life at Cato Campus are partnering to offer “Working it Out”: A Series of Three Career Preparation Sessions during October.

Lunch and Learn-Employer Panel
Lunch will be served at this event.
A small panel of employers in fields relative to CPCC programs and student interest will discuss what they look for in an applicant and employee once the job is secured. Employers will also provide tips on how to maintain their jobs, seek promotion etc. Students will be able to ask the panel candid questions or write their questions on index cards to be addressed.

Interview Do’s and Don’ts– The interview process from beginning to end will be reviewed through an interview skit or presentation. An HR manager from a local law firm will assist with addressing “Do’s and Don’ts” of interviewing in person and over the phone. We will also discuss preparing for the interview, impressions, recognizing and answering different types of questions, handling nervousness, having questions to ask the employer, following up answering etc.

Resume Writing and Critique:
Students can drop in to have their resumes reviewed and critiqued by experienced professional staff. Students will be encouraged to bring their resume on a flash drive, bring a paper copy of their resume or the necessary content to get started.
