CPCC Ross Gallery to feature works by sculptor Janet Lasher
Exhibition to feature sculptures and textiles

WHAT: Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) will host a display of sculptures and textiles by artist Janet Lasher Nov. 25 through Jan. 31 in its Ross Gallery.

Lasher is a trained textile artist who works with various fibers, fabrics and papers to create work focused on the idealized concept of the feminine form. The exhibition, “Figurative Presence,” will feature freestanding sculptural works as well as embroidered wall pieces.

Lasher’s work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in private and public collections around the world. She is a former resident of the McColl Center for Visual Arts and recipient of the Charlotte Quilters Guild Education Grant. Her work has been published in “Quilting Arts,” “FiberArts,” “HeART Quilt Quarterly” and the Lark Book, “Beading with Pearls,” among others. Janet is currently a regional artist for Mecklenburg County, developing textiles for production and designing art curricula for schools in North Carolina.
