Resource of the Month: Safari Tech Books Online

CPCC Libraries featured resource of the month for November is Safari Tech Books Online.   Safari Tech Books Online provides access to the most reliable and current collections of technical, creative, digital media, and business management e-books from leading publishers.  You can search across the full text of 50 titles made available by the CPCC Libraries, as well as browse books by category to research a technical topic.

Safari Tech Books Online is located in the Research Databases area of the library website.  You may also access the specific books located in the Safari database by doing a keyword search in our Online Catalog for “Safari books online”.

Resource of the Month: Opposing Viewpoints

CPCC Libraries featured resource of the month for October is Opposing Viewpoints.  Opposing Viewpoints is an extremely useful source for reliable information about current events.  It contains a number of different resources relating to major social issues, including differing viewpoints, magazine and journal articles and relevant statistics. Opposing Viewpoints is located in the Research Databases area of the library website.

The library has also put together an online video tutorial with instructions on using this resource.  This tutorial and others are located in the Quick Tutorials section of our website.

Resource of the Month: Literature Resource Center

Starting this month, CPCC Libraries will be profiling a different electronic resource every month.  For September, our featured resource is Literature Resource Center.  Literature Resource Center is an excellent source for authoritative information about literature and authors.  It features reviews of literary works, literary criticism, author biographies and full-text entries of thousands of poems, short stories and plays. Literature Resource Center is located in the Research Databases area of the library website.

Here are just a few of the items found in Literature Resource Center:

  • The full-text of many of Emily Dickinson’s poems
  • Literary analysis of the works of Stephen King
  • Several biographies of James Baldwin

The library has also put together an online video tutorial with instructions on using this resource.  This tutorial and others are located in the Quick Tutorials section of our website.
