The library now has 2 Texas Instruments (TI-84 Plus Silver Edition) Graphing Calculators available for 3-hour checkout to students. You must present your student ID to checkout a calculator.

NewsBank provides access to thousands of newspapers, both nationally and worldwide. In particular, it provides access to several local newspapers: The Charlotte Observer, The Charlotte Post and The Mecklenburg Times. NewsBank is a perfect source for conducting research on local or state issues.

Fall Book Sale Fundraiser to be held Tuesday, October 23

Our Annual Scholarship Book Sale will be held on Tuesday, October 23 during the campus Fall Fest. A special preview sale will be held for faculty and staff on Monday, October 22 from 11am-1pm.

In order for this event to be a continued success, we need your donations! Fall break is coming and it’s a great time to weed your personal book or video collection for a great cause. Don’t miss this opportunity to get some great books and videos at bargain prices for those cool weekends and the upcoming holidays!

Library $cholarship – Deadline is October 31



Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to full time students for the Spring 2013 semester. Information and eligibility criteria for the Theresa Thompson Library $cholarship can be located at Applications are available in the library or can downloaded from the library’s web page. The deadline to submit all required documents is October 31.

The Theresa Thompson Library Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance for currently enrolled students pursuing a two-year degree at the Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC)

To be eligible for the CPCC Library Scholarship, applicants must:

  • be a full-time student, currently enrolled in 12 credit hours or more in an approved degree program leading to a two-year degree
  • have completed at least one full-time semester at CPCC within the past two semesters
  • have a cumulative CPCC GPA of 2.5 or higher. A copy of current transcript must be submitted with application
  • submit a completed application with supporting documents
  • write an original 550 to 750 word essay on how the CPCC libraries have helped you achieve your educational goals thus far
  • submit a letter of recommendation from a CPCC faculty or staff member that you have known within the last two years
