Fear the Beard

November is National Beard Month

Ever since Samson slayed 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of an ass, human beings have pondered the mysterious power of excess hair. In modern times hair growth, particularly the beard, has taken on far greater significance. From the Old English and Dutch word baard meaning ‘to boldly confront’, the contemporary donner of the beard boldly signals that he is on a different track to the rest of society.  One in which he is very possibly, and boldly, unemployed.  Is he just crazy?  Or does he know something that the clean-shaven do not?     {from The Curse of the Drinking glass}

Stop by the library (CT 250) to figure out what your beard says about you!
