Got A Question? Let the Library Help

Pictured above is the homepage of Library Learning Express, one of NC Live's many databases

If you are looking for an answer to a question like “Where can I find a great novel?”, “Where can I find practice SAT tests” or “How can I improve my chances of passing my US Citizenship test?” then your campus library has your answer. NC Live which can be accessed through CPCC ‘s library webpage  provides free access to databases containing more than 50,000 newspapers, journals, magazines, encyclopedias, e-books, e-audio, and streaming video titles for North Carolina citizens.  People can access Novelist to search for a great novel, the PBS Video Collection to watch a series or documentary or Academic Search Premier to research a wide range of topics.

The library also offers access to an online resource named Library Learning Express. On Library Learning Express you can quickly set up an account by creating a username, a password and entering your email address. After setting up your account you can begin using online tutorials. Courses, which are multiple tutorials on one topic, are also available. There are courses in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Access and Business Writing, just to name a few.

Library Learning Express also has several practice tests to help you prepare for occupational exams and standardized tests such as the Graduate Record Exam, Civil Service Exam, Nursing Assistant Certification Exam and the US Citizenship Exam.  In addition to courses and practice tests, this online resource also has an area focused on improving job skills, building resumes and searching for jobs called the Job & Career Accelerator. North Carolina citizens who are not currently students can access NC Live at their Public Library.

Visit the Research Database page  at the library’s website to get started.
