Disabilities Counseling Services now has the ability to track disabilities, accommodations, and assigned counselors in Ellucian’s Colleague for students who use their services. Prior to this new capability, data was maintained in a variety of places not associated with Colleague. This new enhancement, developed by the CIS team of Adminsitrative Information Services, is a giant step forward for data collection and reporting for this department. The custom screen will help Central Piedmont Community College stay in compliance with Section 504 and The Americans with Disabilities Act to provide classroom accommodations and accessibility to students with disabilities.
New Company Name Announced for Datatel and SunGard Higher Education Combination-News from DUG 2012
AIS staff along with Torey Mills, from the Payroll Department and David Kim, CIO, represented CPCC during the 2012 Annual Datatel Users’ Group Conference in National Harbor, Maryland April 1-4, 2012. CPCC employees presented six sessions, participated in three roundtables and networked at countless meetings and events. As it turns out, this was the last year for the DUG conference. Now the new company, Ellucian, will have a combined user conference with expected attendance of over 6,000 people next spring! We will probably all have to use GPS so we don’t get lost!!! We all made new peer contacts and returned with information on best practices.
“Ellucian evokes the clarity and light that learning brings to life, aspects that we aspire to share in our relationships with institutions of higher, further and vocational education around the world,” said Michelle Reed, Chief Marketing Officer, Ellucian. “We are a passionate team, motivated by the possibilities of technology and education. The Ellucian brand amplifies who we are and what we want to be for our clients.”
